On the day 15th of December, professor Virginio Cantoni invited JoinPad’s team to judge the “Augmented Reality Contest” in Pavia.
The hackaton, started two weeks before, was organized by professor Cantoni with JoinPad’s team and Epson Italy at the University of Pavia: more than 30 students were invited to create an Image Recognition Engine that could recognize a paper cube with printed on six scenes from the Battle of Pavia.
The results were shown by the groups in front of a jury, composed by Mauro Rubin, Massimo Pettiti, Aaron Brancotti and Andrea Tullis from JoinPad, Giovanni Menegardo from Epson and Giacomo Galazzo, council member from Pavia.
All the works were really interesting, but the official winner was Nicolò Marchesi, awarded with one Epson Moverio BT-200.
The group composed by Eric Villa, Alessandro Gatti and Simone Guasconi took the second place.
We were really satisfied by the student’s efforts, we hope we can organize soon other similar events.
