JoinPad at IFA 2019: AR app for new Samsung Tab Active Pro
From 6 to 11 September 2019, JoinPad will present its Augmented Reality solution for the new Samsung Tab Active Pro at IFA 2019 Europe’s most relevant showcase of the international consumer and home electronics industry held annually at Berlin ExpoCenter City in Germany. Last year, the tradeshow registered nearly 250.000 visitors from 100 countries, more than 1.800 exhibitors, 2.300 keynote attendees, and 4.7 billion euros order volume.
This year it bound to host “more innovation and product launches than any previous event, it will also present more digital lifestyle products in one place than any other show worldwide”, according to the IFA official web site. The tradeshow will gather together leading companies, start-ups, retailers, buyers, and experts from the Home & Entertainment Electronics, Appliances, Media, and Communication sectors.
As anticipated, Samsung is set to launch the new Tab Active Pro at IFA 2019. As one of their B2B Global Partners since 2018, JoinPad will present an Augmented Reality app, called “Augmented Layout“, that will bring out and showcase the power of the new tablet. Our stand will be inside Samsung’s City Cube Berlin Area, in the Mobile B2B zone, Level 2.
The Augmented Layout application is one of a kind. It runs on tablets as well as smartphones, and of course, we optimized it for the new Tab Active Pro equipped with the S Pen to draw on the screen.
How does the Augmented Layout application work? First, it allows you to dynamically map the environment in real-time. When its ready you can tap on the screen to place 3D models of equipment or machinery in real-life scale (1:1) in the space. It also displays the relative technical datasheet. You can then choose among four options: draw with your finger or using the S Pen, write text, assess the footprint area of equipment, and save the scene by uploading it to the cloud.
The real-life size feature makes Augmented Layout the optimal tool for sale processes and presentations, together with the possibility to take notes of your clients’ insights and requests directly on the 3D model in AR so that you can easily retrieve what they asked for.
During IFA, attendees will have the chance to experience positioning a robotic arm in the space, using the S Pen on the Tab Active Pro to annotate on it. Upon request, we will also showcase Smart Assistance, the remote support tool for technicians, and BrainPad, the ultimate maintenance platform, both powered with Augmented Reality technology.
We look forward to see you at our booth at IFA 2019!
