JoinPad's latest AR solutions at IFA 2019
Showcasing the power of Augmented Reality on the new Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Pro for the B2B sector
IFA 2019, the world’s most important expo for consumer electronics and home appliances, held from 6 to 11 September 2019 in Berlin (Germany), has been a huge success with nearly 2,000 exhibitors, 245,000 visitors, and more than 50 percent of trade visitors coming from abroad. Focused mainly on consumer technology, this year was all about voice, artificial and 5G mobile networks for electronics and home appliances ever more connected.
As a B2B company, we were an exception among so many consumer companies as Siemens, Bosch, and BMW. We have been invited by Samsung along with others B2B partners to attend the event and present our Augmented Reality solutions for the Industry 4.0. The venue was inside the 6.000 meter square building City Cube Berlin, branded as Samsung City for the occasion, which had a corner on the second floor dedicated to B2B-oriented mobile devices.

JoinPad for Samsung at IFA Berlin 2019
Showcasing the power of Augmented Reality on the new Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Pro for the B2B sector.

Samsung released the new Galaxy Tab Active Pro, designed to be high-performing even in extreme work conditions. It is equipped with the S Pen which ensures it can also be used while wearing gloves as usually demanded by the companies safety policies during maintenance and repair operations. The tablet also supports ARCore, Google’s platform for building augmented reality experiences, and Samsung DeX allowing desktop-like functionality by connecting it to a monitor.
As their Augmented Reality-solutions global partner, JoinPad developed a brand new application called Augmented Layout to showcase how the Tab Active Pro handles this emerging technology in a high-performing way. Our app is an easy-to-use solution to visualize your product, machinary and equipment as a full-scale digital 3D object in the real environment making it suitable for sales presentations, prototyping, and training. Attendees had also the opportunity to get hands-on with our Smart Assistance app for remote assistance, and BrainPad, the authoring tool for creating maintenance guides in AR.
Even though IFA was consumer-oriented, those who were interested in B2B solutions and visited our stand were very impressed with our AR applications. We mainly got in touch with representatives from sectors as electronics, security, military, automative, household appliances, and system integrators.

At IFA 2019, JoinPad and Samsung reinforced their partnership and laid the ground for new projects both at a global and European level, after meeting with Samsung’s manager from South Korea, Germany, and Poland. We thank Samsung Germany for the hospitality and for providing us everything we needed.
