Energy and Manufacturing corporations plan on leveraging AR
JoinPad was invited to attend the Enterprise XR: The 21st Century Engineer – Heads up and Hands Free + NASA JSC 2019 Annual Light Manufacturing, a closed VIP event held on August 27, 2019, at the Gilruth Center at East Nasa Parkway in Houston (TX). Organizers Houston VR and Station Houston put together a lineup of the top USA and international technological startups, and hardware manufacturers to showcase the latest AR/VR solutions in the remote assistance field as well as advanced manufacturing applications to corporations, NASA Directorates, and its prime vendors. It was, at the same time, an event to explore the business opportunities that are opening up in the space industry worth trillions.
The format of the event included a conference and simultaneously a speed dating which provided 15 minutes of one to one sessions between technological companies and large corporations, among which there were ConocoPhillips, DOW, ExxonMobile, Wartsila, and others.
During the speed dating, our Country Manager in the USA, German Rodriguez, gave attendees the chance to try first hand the new versions of our BrainPad and Smart Assistance applications based on Augmented Reality technology.
Smart Assistance, the solution for remote support has been enriched with the photosharing and file sharing mode allowing the user to share photos annotated in AR as well as pdf and image files. Whereas BrainPad, the authoring platform for creating step-by-step work instructions in AR, has been restyled to perfectly integrate with Smart Assistance. Both are powerful tools that can make maintenance, repair and training operations more efficient, safer and error-free in a wide range of industrial sectors, from aviation to energy, manufacturing and transportation.
Thank you to Houston VR for inviting us, giving us the opportunity to show our AR solutions to major energy and manufacturing corporations.
