As Samsung B2B partner since 2018, on August 27th, we attended online the 4th Samsung Together event for B2B customers and partners focused on the upcoming launch of a new rugged device, the Galaxy Tab Active 3, which will be available on the market starting in October 2020.

In the latest years, the electronics multinational is heavily investing in special devices suitable for work environments: the rugged range is growing every year now, including Galaxy Tab Active and Galaxy Tab Active Pro tablet series, Galaxy XCover 4S, and the new Galaxy X Cover Pro smartphone. The event started with the unveiling of the new Tab Active 3, followed by the presentation of the partners’ ecosystem, among which JoinPad was cited as one of the main B2B partners, along with companies such as Microsoft and RAM Mounts. Furthermore, our CEO Mauro Rubin had the opportunity to ask more about the new AR features of the device during the interactive Q&A session, which has ended with the presentation and recommendation from James Pak, the corporate VP of Global Mobile B2B Product Management, of our remote support tool, Smart Assistance, to Samsung’s clients. Mr. Pak emphasized that he is very proud to be a partner of a company like JoinPad, offering outstanding solutions to support companies in the new normal of Covid-19. He also described how a tool as Smart Assistance, which applies Augmented Reality to remote help, is becoming essential for business continuity during extended periods of social distancing and travel restrictions due to the pandemic. Many companies such as CommScope, BTicino, and MH Material Handling have already started to rely on Smart Assistance to provide technical assistance, supervise factory acceptance testing, and lead commercial negotiations in real-time remotely. The demand for Smart Assistance has increased by 980% in the latest months as visual support has become key to the work procedures.
In addition to more powerful AR capabilities, the improved touch screen will allow our customers to use Tab Active 3 with gloves. At the same time, the Samsung DeX integration lets them switch from one device to another seamlessly.
